Cruising Into Powell

We met at a time when neither of us was exactly ready for a relationship (Saleshia will say that I slid into her DMs). We were just two people, side by side, dealing with the same kind of heartache and pretending we were totally fine (SPOILER: we were not). What began as a friendship quickly turned into a shared survival group—lots of talking, lots of listening, and the comforting realization that someone else finally got it. There were so many similarities that it was starting to get scary...lol! Somewhere between swapping stories, laughing at our own bad luck, and and recognizing we’d both been through so much, we grew closer. The walls came down, the jokes got easier, and the smiles stuck around a lot longer. And then Saleshia made me laugh—effortless, infectious, and completely unexpected. Before I knew it, she joked her way straight into my heart like she belonged there...and to be honest, she did. What started as “just friends” quietly turned into something we couldn’t ignore. No pressure, no rushing—just two people healing, having fun, and realizing that life suddenly just felt right, really right. Making it official wasn’t a big dramatic moment—it was a natural next step to something that had already been building beautifully the whole time.
