The wedding festivities will all be held at Borgo Stomennano, a private villa located in Monteriggioni, Italy, approximately twenty minutes from Siena and one hour from Florence.
We are inviting everyone to stay with us, as our guest, at Borgo Stomennano. Therefore, you do not need to worry about securing your own accommodations. However, guests are free to stay elsewhere if desired. If you decide you would rather forgo our invitation for three nights at the villa, we would recommend staying in Siena city center close to Parcheggio San Prospero.
We completely understand! We know it might be hard to take time away from work, family, and other obligations for three days of wedding activities. We are so grateful to everyone who is willing and able to travel to Italy for our wedding, and will cherish all of the time we’re able to spend with our guests. When RSVPing, we would ask that our guests indicate which of the three days of events they plan on attending so we can coordinate all of the logistics with our vendors.
Please book your flights as soon as possible! The earlier you book your flights, the cheaper the cost. We would recommend flying into Florence Airport (FLR), since it is closest to where the wedding festivities will be held (approximately one hour away). However, there are more direct flights from the US to Rome (approximately 2.5 hours away) and this would be a great option if you’re able to add an extra day to your trip and would like to visit Rome.
Depending where you’re traveling from, you have a few options. We suggest taking a train to Siena and then taking a taxi from the train/bus station to Borgo Stomennano. This is about a 30 minute drive. You can also take a train to Castellina In Chianti-Monteriggioni, which is a small train station located approximately a 5 minute drive from the villa. There are no taxis available at Castellina In Chianti-Monteriggioni, but if you provide us with your train times, we can arrange for someone from the villa to pick you up. If you decide to rent a car you can park at the villa.
The choice is yours! If you’re able to, we would recommend arriving in Italy a day or two in advance so you can experience Rome, Florence, or Siena. The first wedding event will take place on Saturday, October 24th.
Guests should make sure their passports are valid for at least 3 months (preferably at least 6 months) from the date you plan to leave Italy/the EU. If your passport expires before this 3-month window, you will not be allowed to enter the country.
