The Main Street Museum
This is a quirky and fun museum located in historic White River Junction. The museum's general hours are limited, but tours can be scheduled by texting the phone number in advance. We highly recommend visiting this unique museum if time allows.
VINS Nature Center
The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is a destination for any nature lovers. There is a bird rehabilitation center serving raptors and songbirds, as well as a canopy walk in the forest. Roberto first visited during Christmas 2025.
Montshire Museum of Science
David highly recommends visiting this museum if you will be coming with children. This museum has lots of fun activities to keep kids entertained, as well as some easy nature walk trails around the museum property. David has fond childhood memories of visiting the Montshire Museum of Science.
Billings Farm & Museum
Billings Farm and Museum is a history museum and working farm that is fun for the whole family. Roberto loved the Billings Farm Cheese, the tour cards, and petting the calves when we visited in 2022.
Hood Museum of Art
The Hood Museum of art is located on the beautiful Dartmouth College campus and has a collection ranging from ancient to modern art, and recently completed a renovation and expansion of their gallery space.
White River Junction
White River Junction is a historic railroad village in the town of Hartford with many local restaurants and businesses. We recommend getting a meal there and walking around the village to see local shops and artist studios!
Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH
Dartmouth College has a beautiful campus that is integrated into the town of Hanover.
Woodstock
No, not that Woodstock. This Woodstock is a beautiful town full of local stores and classic Vermont charm.
Quechee Gorge
Located near VINS Nature Center, the Quechee Gorge is a beautiful natural feature in town. Quechee Gorge State Park has miles of trails along the gorge and in the surrounding forest.
Fore-U Golf Center
Located just down the road from Fireside Inn Fore-U Golf Center has two mini-golf courses and a driving range. I highly recommend making time for a mini-golf side quest here.
Mac's Maple
We highly recommend this spot for maple syrup or maple syrup flavor ice cream. If you ever got maple flavored tea or maple candies from us, we bought them here!
AVA Gallery and Art Center
A fine art gallery with work by local artists including painting, pottery, jewelry, and more. All the pieces at the gallery are also available for sale.
Hurricane Hill Nature Trails
Nature trails located on Hurricane Hill.
Mount Cardigan West Ridge Trail
A relatively easy hike with an amazing view due to the mountain having a nearly treeless summit. The alltrails link has more information about the hike and David is happy to answer any questions about the hike.
Killington Resort
Killington Resort offers summer activities as well as hiking trails. More information is available on the resorts website.
