Kevin and Ana met online in the Summer of 2022. Kevin had just started what would become his career in Land Surveying in Ohio while Ana was working as a barista in Illinois. Undeterred by the distance they began getting to know each other over the following months. Kevin was traveling often for work and would spend his evenings in hotels talking to Ana on the phone. Feelings blossomed and Kevin asked Ana to be his long distance girlfriend on December 12, 2022. Things continued to move forward and Kevin went to meet Ana for the first time in June of 2023. Visits occurred back and forth over the following years as feelings continued to deepen and in January of 2025, Ana moved to Ohio to be with Kevin. Kevin and Ana had discussed marriage and Kevin intentionally misled her to think he was going to propose in Summer of 2026. What Ana didn’t know was that Kevin was orchestrating a surprise with the help of her sisters. They traveled to Peoria for Christmas 2025, and on December 22, Kevin had one of Ana’s sisters take her elsewhere. He then gave his rehearsed speech in Spanish to her parents asking for their blessing to marry their daughter (with some help from Ana’s other sister). That night Kevin and Ana went to Riverfront Park in Peoria, (where they met in person for the first time years prior), and while Ana’s sisters filmed from a hidden spot, Kevin got down on one knee to ask Ana for her hand in marriage. Which brings us to June 5, 2027 where they hope you will join them to celebrate the start of a happy marriage to one another!
