We met in a computer graphics class during our 11th grade year in high school. We were introduced by a mutual friend. I made sure I always said hello to her when I walked in the classroom. She probably didn't think much of me at that point, but I knew one day she'd be my wife.
By this point our senior year of high school was slowly coming to an end. We had another class together and began to get closer. I bought a bear, some chocolates and a rose and my mom drove me to Talisha’s house. I was so nervous but once she came to the door I knew I was exactly where I wanted to be.
At this point we'd been together for almost 8 years. This day was the anniversary of our first kiss so it was special. We decided to spend the day in Philadelphia. We grabbed cheese steaks from Genos, overlooked the city from the observation deck, and had dinner at the Cheescake Factory. That evening we went to a Miami Heat - Philadelphia 76ers game. Talisha is a Heat fan so it was nice for her to see her favorite team play in person. During halftime they displayed a message on the jumbotron that read "Talisha Butler, I love you! Will you marry me?"
