Chauna's Perspective of Our Story

Ryan and I met in high school where we had several classes together. Freshman year, we never did talk very much- only occasionally in class groups. Fast forward to the summer on July 13th, 2014, I receive a message from Ryan saying "Hey, how's life". Being the introvert that I am, I saw the message and didn't respond (messages from people I don't talk to make me nervous, okay? That's my excuse!) I finally responded on Saturday, September 12th, 2014 with "Hi. Sorry don't really get on Facebook lol". The reason I *finally* responded after almost 2 months? Well... The week prior, my friend came up to me and told me that Ryan was planning on asking me to homecoming, which was on September 17th. I didn't really believe her at the time, since we had almost never talked, but it was indeed true (but spoiler! he didn't even ask me!). Honestly, I was quite scared because I didn't really know Ryan. After I heard of this news, I remembered Ryan had messaged me that summer, and decided to go message him back. It turns out that Ryan didn't ask me because he "couldn't go anymore", which I like to think that's an excuse still ;), because he still ended up going to Homecoming. Time went on, and we talked day and night. I thought he was a kind, funny guy, and each day I looked forward to talking to him more. January 2015 came around, and the Gala dance at school was approaching. This is a dance where the girls ask the guys, and I knew I wanted to ask Ryan. I made sugar cookies with frosting, and on top put sprinkles in the letters (G-A-L-A). Shockingly, he said yes. The day of Gala comes, January 31st, 2015, and when Ryan comes to pick me up, he asks me to be his girlfriend with a stuffed animal panda (my favorite animal!) that was holding a heart chalkboard that said BF GF? I said yes and we headed to the dinner and dance, which (I'm not gonna lie!) was very awkward because I'm very awkward! ..you'll definitely get to experience that awkwardness on our wedding day!

Ryan's Perspective of The Proposal

August 8th, 2020

After five beautiful years and six wonderful months and nine miraculous days, it was no secret that she was the one for me. In the recent weeks my friends attempted to throw me a surprise birthday party however, due to a slip of the tongue, I caught on. My friends and I decided to twist the surprise The plan was simple, I'd act surprised, have our close friends and family all come together, and I would ask Chauna to spend the subsequent chapters of our lives together. Unfortunately, Chauna is ever so perspective and she begun to catch on. Lexi pulled me aside at the party and let me know that Chauna was getting suspicious of what was going on. We pulled everyone outside while the grill was running, and I took a moment to thank everyone for everything for all the love and support. By this time, Chauna fully knew what was happening. I turned to her, lower to a knee "Chauna I look forward to the next chapter of my life and spending every day with you. Chauna will you marry me?"
