In classic Waleed fashion, Waleed made Dipika laugh the very first time they met. Little did they know that they'd be laughing together for the rest of their lives! Dipika and Waleed were in the same section during business school at the University of Michigan (shoutout to Ross admissions for impeccable match making skills). Their friendship blossomed over their mutual love of dance floors, their awesome last names, and trying to out-talk each other. After a year of friendship, Waleed asked Dipika out on their first "official" date in the fall of 2016. The second year of business school flew by, filled with football games, costume parties and traveling--oh yea, and some studying too! Dipika and Waleed moved to New York after graduation to continue their adventures together. They are so excited to celebrate with all of you in July!

Waleed wanted to propose in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where the couple first met. He sneakily found an excuse for Dipika to take a weekend trip to Ann Arbor over the summer. While Dipika found this trip to be a bit suspicious, she had no idea what the weekend had in store for her. After brunch at Sava's, Dipika and Waleed took a walk around campus. Waleed was acting a bit strange (or should we say, stranger than usual) and it was raining, so Dipika was ready to cut the walk short and head back indoors. Good thing that didn't happen, because the walk ended with Waleed getting down on one knee and popping the question! Dipika answered with "I KNEW IT!" and then proceeded to say yes. It's hard to believe, but the best part of the weekend was yet to come! Waleed had organized a surprise party of epic proportions, inviting both families as well as close friends to join the couple in Ann Arbor. Dipika was in complete shock seeing her loved ones from all over the country (and Canada!) in Ann Arbor. It was the best weekend ever and still feels like a dream!
