How We Met

Bryant & I met in October 2008. We were just a pair of teenagers, 16 years old to be exact. I was the after school camp counselor for his little cousin Nicole and he would come pick her up everyday. One day, Bryant sent a note with Nicole to give to me, he was asking for my "aim" which at that time was an online chat system that we teenagers utilized to talk to one another. I obliged with a return note giving him the nickname "kiddo" and soon there after Bryant was hanging around more and more during after school dismissal time to spend more time with me. We spoke for awhile and didn't "officially" get together till two years later. But he always knew. He told me I would be his wife when we first met. <3

The Proposal

Bryant surprised me with a weekend trip to Puerto Rico (he gave me 1 day's notice). It was on this weekend that he asked me to be his wife. We had just finished having dinner at our hotel and were walking back to our room. It was dark out and the pathway to our room was lit with lights and lined with palm trees. While walking he stopped and hugged me and began giving me a very heartfelt speech and just as he was about to get on one knee, a hotel worker hilariously disrupted the moment by driving by on a golf cart, prompting Bryant to holt his attempt. The worker then stopped, asking us if we needed a ride to the other side of the resort (this is what was hilarious, because no one was driving by when we were walking in the hot sun earlier that day and because he was oblivious to the moment he was disrupting). We said no and he drove off. After he drove off, Bryant got on one knee and popped the question. I said yes (in between tears of course). It was a beautiful and memorable weekend. <3
