No, we only need your presence and dance moves! We love reading cards and will have a box if you wish to bring one.
Semi-formal attire; dresses & suits.
We do not have transportation from The Thompson to Chicago Winery; parking is limited downtown, so we strongly encourage you to take a rideshare! We will be providing transportation from the reception to the after party.
Yes!! Restaurant recommendations near the Thompson: LUXBAR, Somerset, and Bellevue are all great for any meal or a cocktail. Gibson’s for a more formal steak dinner. If you want pizza, Pizano’s, Giordano’s, and Gino’s East are all just south of the hotel (we don’t love deep dish and always get thin crust, but doesn’t hurt to try it while you’re here!) For a more upscale pizza place with non-deep dish options, we like Pizza Portofino on the river. We also enjoy Beatnik on the river (Mediterranean) and RPM Seafood for a more upscale option. Things to do near the Thompson + downtown: Shopping on Rush St and Michigan Ave Walk or bike (Divvy rental) along Lakeshore Drive (Alyssa's fav) Architecture tour on the river (Ryan's fav) Walk along the riverwalk Sear's (Willis) tower or John Hancock building for views across the whole city Art Institute Field Museum Shedd Aquarium ‘The Bean’ is in Millennium Park. Cindy's rooftop is on the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association and you can overlook the Bean while enjoying a cocktail Comedy show (Laugh factory is our favorite, lots of others nearby) *We live in Wicker Park and love our neighborhood! Cafe Robey for rooftop drinks, The Perch for casual bites, and Wicker Park farmer’s market opens on Sunday, May 3rd!*
