We’re Getting Married!

The year is 2020. We’re all coping with quarantine, learning new TikTok dances, and figuring out how to stay busy, so we don’t rip our hair out. This is where the story begins. As much as they hate to say it, the happy couple has pandemic boredom & TikTok to thank for their beautiful life together. In April of 2020, Rachel happened upon a video that Chase posted on TikTok. While the exact details may be better left to the imagination, Rachel will often describe it as “a thirst trap that worked.” Shortly after this, they began an intensely romantic exchange that began with the “👀” emoji in Rachel’s DM one afternoon. While neither Rachel nor Chase were searching for a serious relationship, it seemed from the start that it was meant to be. The first night they ever heard each other’s voices was on a FaceTime call. Chase was living in California, and Rachel was living with her parents in Georgia. Thanks to the aforementioned pandemic boredom, they ended up staying on the phone a little longer than they anticipated… Rachel woke up for her shift at the restaurant she worked at around 8:30 am- after only going to sleep at 6:00 am. That first phone call was a pivotal moment in both of their lives. Chase often remembers it as the moment he almost blocked Rachel because he knew he was going to fall in love with her and was scared of doing so. But, the fates had already decided otherwise. After two months of daily FaceTimes, heart to heart conversations, and lots of inside jokes, Rachel (much to her parents’ chagrin) booked the first flight to LAX from Atlanta. It didn’t seem rational to fly across the country to meet the love of your life in person, but nothing about the relationship had been rational thus far. For three weeks, Rachel and Chase spent every waking moment together. They reveled in shared hobbies, lots of laughter, and the warmth, love, and support of Veronica and Nacho (and their four lovely daughters). finally put physical presence to the souls they had grown so attached to. Rachel often recalls feeling like she was “home” during this trip. Later realizing, that feeling of being home was coming from Chase. Without hesitation, she booked her next round trip flight to come back out to California, and then finally, a one way ticket to live with this amazing man and amazing family for a few months. Chase and Rachel’s relationship is one founded on communication, openness, acceptance, and humor. After nearly half a decade, they still consider each other to be their best friend and their better half. Chase often revels in the fact that he has the funniest, most beautiful, and most talented fiancée in the entire world (perhaps even funnier than himself, he adds). Rachel, too, feels grateful every single day that she has found someone with whom she feels safe, seen, heard, and understood. These things are rare in the world, and she can’t thank the universe enough that it saw her fit to be this amazing man’s soulmate. Rachel and Chase look forward to taking the next step in their relationship by vowing to spend eternity together as husband and wife. They are so looking forward to your support and presence at the wedding and throughout the rest of their lives. They love each other so very much, and they love YOU too and cannot wait to celebrate the happiest occasion with you.
