We met and became friends in middle school, our friend group was inseparable in high school (of which we later found out we both had crushes on each other at different times during high school) and after college we were reunited in Dallas. Post college life, I got Chase an interview at the company I was working at and we quickly became co-workers and confidants. It was during that time of spending every day together that we figured out there was something more between us. Over the next few weeks, Chase and I noticed we’d always be the last to leave work happy hour, the first to find excuses to hang out outside the friend group and spent countless hours on the phone. We didn’t want to lose our friendship but we fell for each other and I am so grateful we did because I am in love with my best friend. Here we are 6+ years later and still stronger than ever. We can’t wait to see what this next chapter of life has in store for us!

Like many others, Chase had plans for early 2020 but quickly learned that the pandemic had another idea. We were planning on spending our fifth year anniversary abroad where Chase was planning a surprise proposal... cue quarantine. Poor Chase tried to plan the proposal a few more times throughout the year but for one reason or another the plans fell through. Fast forward to September and Chase realized that perfect opportunities are few and far between in the pandemic, and sometimes we need to make our own. He surprised me with a dressy date night out to dinner, and kept the surprises rolling when he requested to grab a cocktail on the rooftop of the Canvas hotel downtown. I knew something was up when his normally lively demeanor had gone quiet and the hotel staff were referring to him as Mr. White. Upon realizing what was unfolding, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. As we turned the corner on the rooftop, I saw flowers and a bottle of champagne overlooking the skyline. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee and I was shouting “YES”. See you on November 13th!
