Chase and I met when we were sophomores in High School. We met on our way back from our church's retreat at Doe River Gorge. We maybe said two sentences to each other. Flash forward almost a year later, after seeing each other many times at church. Chase asked for my number through Twitter, and then we went on a date the next day. Chase asked me to be his girlfriend on August 8th, 2015. We lived almost an hour apart so for 2 years we would meet at the church, exactly 23 minutes from both of our houses, to go on dates. A year later we said 'I love you'. After many many dates, vacations, student retreats, mission trips to Nicaragua and Uganda, new experiences, coffee dates, and 4 years of growing up and pursuing Jesus together Chase finally popped the question. On December 20th 2019 we started the day with a hike to the first place we ever hiked. Chase had told me we were going to dinner with his parents, and to not wear a t-shirt lol. So, after I went home to get ready we went to get coffee and then headed to the church to "meet his parents". Chase missed the pull in to the parking lot, and pulled into the service road beside our church. We walked into the field where he had hung up the letters I had written to him over the past four and a half years. We slowed danced, and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him...with a four page letter ( que the tears). I said "UM YES". Chase had some of our closest friends and family waiting for us to celebrate. It was truly the sweetest thing ever. We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives growing up together and pursuing Jesus and His Kingdom together.
