We originally met in third grade at school and when Chase lived next to my grandparents in Atkinson, Nebraska. Honestly, I was not a big fan of him at that age. He was just a typical boy. Chase moved away, and years later in 2017, he moved back to Atkinson the summer before our sophomore year of high school, this time as my neighbor. After many summer days spent hanging out in my backyard on the trampoline, Chase asked me to be his girlfriend on June 22, 2017! We dated throughout high school, and honestly, we were just two high school kids growing and learning how to live during such a crazy time in our lives. We took so many trips to O’Neill for ice cream, drove around good ol’ Atkinson since that is about all you can do in a small town, and went to each other’s school events to support one another. Fast forward a few years, a move to Norfolk, and two dogs later, Chase finally popped the big question on May 17, 2024! We had just enjoyed a little picnic at Skyview Lake, and Chase wanted to go for a walk afterward. I said, “No thanks.” After much convincing, I finally agreed to take a short walk to check out a field I frequently use for photography sessions. We checked out the field for about two seconds before I was ready to hit the road to get our sweet treat after dinner. As I was walking away, Chase said my name once. I said, “What?” and kept walking. Then he said it twice. “What?!” I turned around, and there he was on one knee, asking me to marry him. I said yes excitedly and then immediately said, “Let’s go get a sweet treat!” We had been together for almost seven years, and let me tell you, it was about time! It was very us, and I think about that moment every time I go to that field! After eight years together, a couple of moves, countless dates, many trips taken together, and pounds of sweet treats eaten, we really couldn't image what life would be like without each other, and we say it a lot. We grew up together, support each other, and truly balance each other out. We are so excited to step into this new chapter together, surrounded and supported by everyone we love so dearly! Get ready for the party of the year because it's time for us high school sweethearts to get married!!
