We met like most millennials do these days.. on an app. Our love of hockey and our ability to get lost in an alternate reality (Chase - videogames, Jackie - books) brought us together. From sporting events to renaissance fairs to adventuring in different states, we quickly realized our favorite person had changed to each other. On a random Wednesday in August, Chase asked Jackie to go on a hike. He took her back to where they had their first date, Iowa City Fossil Gorge, and after walking the path asked her "will you go get ice cream with me?", needing to add some humor to calm his nerves. Naturally, Jackie thought he was serious and tried to figure out which place to go (Heyn's or Dairy Queen). Then Chase got down on one knee and said "Since you already know how I feel, I don't have a speech. Will you marry me?" After tears and an oh crap we need a picture to mark this moment, Chase took Jackie to Heyn's for her ice cream. We can't wait to start this chapter and celebrate with our favorite people!
