Chase and I met at the 2022 Baylor Homecoming Bonfire on Friday, October 21. I can hardly believe it has been almost three years since then! I asked her to take a picture of my friends in front of the fire, and then I asked her to get in the picture too! I got her phone number and sent her the picture, then I asked if she'd be at the homecoming parade the following morning. She said yes, and I met her there. We started haning out, and I was really into her. She said that if I kept her attention for three weeks that I was a keeper! "What an odd thing to say but challenge accepted," I thought. Clearly, I succeeded. Chase said that I was different than the guys where she was from (in a good way). "There can't be many decent guys where your from then," I thought. But now we're engaged and soon to be married, so I am grateful to have the chance to have met her when I did. The picture from that night is below.
Hi! This is Jack. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Although I am from Texas, Chase would hardly consider me "country" and thinks that I am a "country-club city boy." It is hard for me to disagree with her, but I do love being outside, whether that be hiking, playing pickleball, or working in the yard. I am an economics and finance student at Baylor, and I am entering my senior year this fall. I am currently studying for the LSAT, and I hope to go to law school after college to be a financial lawyer, although I'm not sure where. In my free time, I like to go to the gym, play guitar, listen to podcasts and music, go to the car wash, and hang out with CHASE! Together, we love to cook, play pickleball, go to the gym, watch shows, poke fun at each other, and clean. And it wouldn't be fair to describe our relationship without mentioning what our faith in Jesus mean to us. It is the center of why we're getting married, and God has been faithful to us as we strive to get closer to him. He has generously provided a way forward at every turn in our relationship, and we are confident that he will continue to do so in marriage.
