Charleston, SC is a beautiful hub of history and nature. Downtown has shopping centers, local shops, parks along the water, historical tours, and much more. The area near Charleston also has some of the coolest parks, such as Magnolia Plantation and the Angel Oak Tree Park.
This beach town is not as conveniently located as Myrtle Beach, but you'll find this city and beach to be a lot less crowded and more laid back, especially if you travel to the northern end of the beach near the Morris Island Lighthouse.
This beach city is probably the closest place to stay and relax on the beach, although it's a bit touristy.
