Chase and Anna met the night before the first day of classes freshman year at Otterbein, in a tiny Davis Hall dorm room surrounded by football and volleyball friends. They nervously talked about both being nursing majors and realized they had a chemistry class together the next day. After just a few days of walking to all their same classes together, it became clear they shared more than just chemistry! Long study sessions in the library with friends and in Davis Hall with Anna’s roommate, Carlie, made it obvious they were both interested in being more than friends. Chase asked Anna on an official first date — not to the dining hall or the library, but to Condado. From that point on, they were all in, and it turned out they had more in common (and more invisible strings connecting them) than they ever could have imagined. To name a few: Anna grew up on Carpenter Road, just 25 minutes from Chase. Chase’s parents met at Anna’s high school. They even went to rival schools growing up, which has been the punchline of too many jokes to count. One of Anna’s best friends from high school, Lily, once told her at a Student of the Month award ceremony that there was a “cute Highland boy” there who was going to Otterbein for nursing and football — and who knows, maybe they’d “meet and fall in love.” If only she knew! Five years flew by before Chase finally popped the question in front of all of Anna’s family in Frankenmuth, Michigan — a magical, Hallmark Christmas engagement and the start of their perfect life together.
