Abby and Chase’s story began in the most modern way — when Chase sent Abby a message on Instagram during their junior year of college. What started as a simple conversation quickly turned into something special. It’s almost unbelievable that, despite having countless mutual friends, living just a block apart for 14 years, and even sharing a family connection — Chase’s mom was Abby’s brother Skyler’s second-grade teacher, where Abby’s mom even volunteered in the classroom — their paths had never crossed until then. When their families heard they were going on a date, everyone was instantly excited, knowing how their worlds had quietly been connected all along. Their first date was over pizza, where they talked for hours and immediately felt something different. More dates followed soon after, and before long, it was clear they’d found something real. On August 8th, 2023, during a sunset at the beach, Chase asked Abby to be his girlfriend — a moment they will now share as their wedding date exactly three years later. Since that day, their love has continued to grow through so many beautiful moments together — snowboarding trips, Beaver football games, concerts, cozy date nights, and a Disneyland trip. They supported each other through busy college days and late-night studying as Chase completed his bachelor’s degree in BioHealth Sciences at OSU and Abby earned her degree in Medical Sonography. One of the most special chapters in their story came when Chase planned the perfect surprise proposal at the Seattle Waterfront. With his family nearby and his mom secretly capturing the moment from behind the scenes, he got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him. The surprises didn’t stop there — on their way home, Chase revealed one more heartfelt surprise: an engagement party at his grandparents’ home, surrounded by their closest family and friends ready to celebrate their love. They now live together in Hillsboro,OR with their beloved King Charles Cavalier, Wallen. Chase is pursuing his dream of becoming an Optometrist at Pacific University, while Abby started her career as an Ultrasound Technologist — both grateful for the love and partnership they share every day. They cannot wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife and are so thankful to celebrate their love surrounded by all of you who mean the most. 🤍
