Both Jamie and I almost missed each other, we'd each moved on to a new part of our lives recently and were using the world wide web to seek love, downloading the dating app Bumble we put ourselves out there and then abruptly decided that it sounded terrible and thus deleting the app. We each did this three times, but on the third time, I was going through the literal motions when I came upon this fair skinned, freckled lover of theme parks and was smitten. I messaged her and soon we were talking nonstop. A year and a half later, after going through a global pandemic, a move across the state for me, after the chaotic year of 2020, we'd planned a trip to New Hampshire where we'd visited the year prior to see my mother, and spend some time in Maine. I had a plan to propose while we were at a bed and breakfast, and unbeknownst to me Jamie was planning the exact same thing. When bad luck struck us in the form of a Covid exposure, effectively shutting our plans down, and though we'd told each other at this point our plans, we were BUMMED. Sitting in our livingroom, wallowing in the state of the world, we turned to each other and started talking about how we didn't need to go anywhere to have a special moment, and we each exchanged words of love and understanding and asked one another to spend their lives with them. Now you're here getting ready to spend our wedding with us and we're so grateful.
