Charlotte and Paul met in the summer of 2016 at Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course, a place that had always held a special place in Charlotte’s heart. She had spent every summer there growing up, so when she noticed someone she didn’t recognize, it immediately caught her attention. Paul was working at the resort and living at home nearby in Greenville, and although Charlotte was 17 and naturally shy, something about him felt familiar in a way that was impossible to ignore. They spent that entire evening hanging out and talking, as if they’d known each other for much longer. The next day, Charlotte returned home to Long Island, unsure if she’d ever really see him again, but unable to shake the feeling that she somehow would. Over the next three years, they stayed in touch, texting throughout the year and reconnecting in person each July when Charlotte and her family returned to Sunny Hill. That one week together each summer became something they both looked forward to. By 2019, when Paul invited Charlotte to his sister Kim’s wedding, things became more official. From there, they navigated college, semi-long distance, and eventually a move to Massachusetts to begin a new chapter together. Now, nearly a decade since they first met, they’re celebrating six years together and getting married back on Long Island where Charlotte grew up, surrounded by the people who’ve been part of their story all along!
