Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Charlotte Caldwell and Jason Bourke
There is no shortage of things to do in lovely Tuscany. Especially if you like food, art, and wine :) The photo above is of Baccoleno Farmhouse, a 23 minute drive from Villa Castelletto, and one of the most photographed places in Tuscany.

City of Montepulciano

City of Montepulciano

Montepulciano, Tuscany 53045, Italy

Montepulciano is the closest town near the villa. Here, you can find lots of restaurants, shopping, and of course, wine. While there- check out Caffe Poliziano. Great little cafe with absolutely stunning view. Approximately 25 minutes from Villa Castelletto.

City of Siena

City of Siena

Siena, Tuscany 53100, Italy

Siena is likely Italy's loveliest medieval city, and a trip worth making even if you are in Tuscany for just a few days. Siena's heart is its central piazza known as Il Campo, known worldwide for the famous Palio run here, a horse race run around the piazza two times every summer. Approximately 45 min west of Villa Castelletto. Pro tip: The tasting at Cacci Piccolomini outside of town is great, and Progeria Franci is top for food.

City of Florence

City of Florence

Tuscany, Italy

The capital of the Tuscany region of Italy, home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art, architecture, and Michelangelo’s David. We recommend Palazzo Pitti for some Medici living, Mercato Centrale Firenze for epic food tasting, and Piazzale Michelangelo for a stunning view. Approximately 1 hour 15 min north of Villa Castelletto. Pro tip: Book everything you want to see or do, including meals, in advance. Florence is a major tourist destination and restaurants / museums are booked out well in advance.

Umbria

Umbria

Umbria, Italy

Top quality region- best to explore region between Assissi (1 hour from Villa) and Spoleto (1.5 hours from Villa). Recommendations from our great (and experienced) friend Edd below who has long hosted tours throughout Italy. -Assisi: Nun- high end dining to impress. Locanda Del Cardinale- astonishing setting and good food. Tili Winery, tasting just outside of Assisi (say Edd sends you). Distance to Villa: 1 hour -Spello: Lunch and Tasting at Enoteca Porperzio for top tasting and cool atmosphere. Tell them a Duvine guide sends you. Distance to Villa: 1 hour 5 min - Poreto: Top place to stay in Umbria- Marmotta, If not, Relais Brogo Campello is authentic. 1 hour 22 min -Spoleto: Beautiful region regarded as "hidden gem" in Umbria Distance to Villa: 1 hour 25 min -Trevi: Beautiful to get lost in. Eat at Taverna Delle Sette. Distance to Villa: 1 hour 45

Montepulciano Wineries

Montepulciano Wineries

This wine-focused town is famous for producing some of the best wines across the globe, so it really is a can’t-miss experience when in Tuscany. We recommend Salcheto and Avignonesi, but encourage you to find your own favorites!

Chianti Wineries

Chianti Wineries

When you think of Tuscan wine, you likely imagine the Chianti area, one of the most renowned production areas for its great winemaking tradition and quality. The Chianti region is located between Florence and Siena, only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Villa Castelletto.
