Jake and I met way back in 2009 — I was 16, he was 18, and we were both probably wearing questionable outfits. One spontaneous night out turned into an all-night conversation, and somehow, that kicked off a lifetime of sticking with each other through everything. We've grown up together — not always gracefully — but always side by side, learning, evolving, and figuring it all out as we go. Our first holiday together was to Cornwall, where Jake introduced me to all his childhood favourites — secret spots, sea breezes, and stories that soon became part of our shared memories. That trip sparked our love for exploring the world, taking us from the pyramids of Egypt to the streets of New York, the colours of Mexico to the charm of Italy. Still, our hearts always bring us back to where it began: Cornwall, especially St Ives, the place we return to year after year. In 2016, we bought our first home Priory Lane — a true renovation project we took back to brick and slowly, lovingly, built back up together. That same year, our little family grew with the arrival of Hugo — a black and white French bulldog with a big personality. From the moment he arrived, he filled our home with joy, mischief, and the kind of unconditional love that makes a house feel like home. Eight years on and Hugo is the same teddy sucker, bed ripper, and food stealer and reminding us every day what happiness looks like. In 2021, we moved to Mill Road — another renovation, but this time, our dream home. We knew it would be the place we’d bring our future children home to, a home full of warmth, laughter, and everything we had worked so hard to build. Then, on the 1st of July — after a perfect day in Cornwall, in our favourite place — Jake proposed. Just the three of us on our favourite beach, with the sun setting and the sea stretching out before us. I was watching Hugo splash in the waves, and when I turned around, Jake was there… on one knee, with the sunset glowing behind him. It was everything I ever dreamed of — simple, honest, and full of love. Our journey to parenthood began in January 2024, with our second embryo transfer. We watched a tiny flicker of light on a screen and knew our lives were about to change forever. That flicker became our beautiful baby boy, Freddie, who arrived on October 16th, 2024 — the perfect final piece of our puzzle, completing our little family. Through all these years, one thing has remained constant: the love and support of our family and friends. You’ve been with us through the highs and lows, through the quiet moments and the loud celebrations. You’ve been our strength, our joy, and our home when we needed it most. From teenage sweethearts to parents, from first homes to forever dreams, we’ve shared a life filled with love — and now, we can’t wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
