If flying in domestically, Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is your best bet. It's a wonderful airport less than 1/2 hour from Davis and Sacramento.
If flying internationally, you can fly in to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and rent a car or travel by BART to Richmond and transfer to Amtrak which will take you to Davis or Sacramento. You could also fly in to a hub and get a connecting flight to SMF.
Options for accommodation include hotels, AirBnB, or VRBO in Davis, Woodland, or Sacramento.
