Flying direct to MVY airport is the easiest option. The airport is a 10-minute drive from downtown Edgartown. Ubers, taxis and car rentals are all available at the airport. There are direct flights to the Vineyard from a number of airports including JFK, LGA, NJ (Teterboro), White Plains, Charlotte, Washington DC/Baltimore, Boston, Hyannis, Providence, Provincetown, Nantucket, and New Bedford. We'd recommend building in some buffer with travel as the airport on the island is small and sometimes experiences delays. Boston Logan Airport is the closest major airport. There are Peter Pan buses that will take you from Boston Logan to Woods Hole where the ferry leaves for Martha's Vineyard.

Ferries
Departing from Woods Hole, MA: The Steamship Authority Ferry terminal is located in Woods Hole, MA - about 1.5 hour drive from Boston. If you are interested in bringing your own car to MV, you MUST book your ferry reservation in advance - we suggest booking a couple months ahead of time to make sure you get the times and days you are looking for. You will need to arrive 30 minutes in advance of your reservation if you have a car. You will drive your car on the ferry in Woods Hole, and off the ferry when you arrive on Martha's Vineyard. There is also a Steamship Authority parking lot (276 Palmer Avenue) in Falmouth, MA where you can park, take the quick bus to the terminal and board the ferry on foot. There is a luggage cart to help you with your bags. If you're coming from Boston, there is a Peter Pan bus that leaves from Logan Airport and South Station and drops you off in Woods Hole at the ferry terminal. https://www.steamshipauthority.com/ Departing from Falmouth, MA: The Island Queen is a quick, 35 min, passenger only ferry that leaves from the town of Falmouth. Advance reservations are not necessary and the schedule is slightly less frequent than the Steamship Authority. https://islandqueen.com/ Departing from New York: In 2024, Seastreak had a ferry from East 35th Street that left on Friday at 1pm and arrived in Oak Bluffs at 6pm. The schedule is not consistent (it ran 75% of the weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day) and their schedule is not posted for 2025.
