Airports & Transport

London has multiple airports but Heathrow gets the most transatlantic flights. To get to the wedding venue from London, the easiest options are to drive, take the train, or take a National Express bus. The bus from Heathrow to Bristol takes about 2 hours and costs around £20. Bus tickets can be bought here: https://www.nationalexpress.com/en From Bristol city centre, it's a 25 minute Uber/taxi ride to Folly Farm. Bristol Airport: Although Bristol Airport doesn't have direct flights from the US, it's only a 20-minute drive from the venue (Ubers/taxis available). This is the most convenient airport to fly into for Europeans, and may be a preferable option for those who don't want to travel from London.

Driving in the UK for Americans

Driving on the left side is the easy part. The roadways, especially in rural areas, are much narrower than typical roads in the US. Most intersections have a (clockwise) roundabout. You might drive the entire two+ hours from London to Somerset without encountering a single traffic light or stop sign! If a driver coming from the other direction flashes their lights at you, it means "You go first." If somebody yields to you, it's customary to give a polite wave of the hand as you go by. If you don't wave, you'll be expelled from Hogwarts. Most rental cars are manual transmission, shifting with the left hand. You'll pay extra for automatic, but it's probably worth it for most of you. It took Charlie over a year to feel comfortable driving here, so be honest with yourself and use the train/bus/taxi if you don't feel like learning a new way of driving while jet lagged. Stay with us @ Folly Farm Centre

We have pre-booked twenty hotel-style rooms at the wedding venue for the nights of July 13th and 14th. We hope being able to stay at the venue will simplify plans for our international friends and family. The rooms mostly have en-suite bathrooms and can accommodate 2, 3, or 4 guests. Rooms are approximately £100 per night, depending on type of room and number of guests (some rooms have bunk beds and the per person rate for these is cheaper). TO BOOK A ROOM AT THE VENUE, PLEASE LET CHARLIE OR SARITA KNOW AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE.
