Question

How do i travel to Valle de Guadalupe?

Answer

The drive from Los Angeles to Valle de Guadalupe takes about 3-3.5 hours, primarily via the I-5 South freeway, passing through the San Ysidro Port of Entry at the US-Mexico border. Expect wait times at the border, particularly on weekends, and ensure you have a valid passport, car insurance, and vehicle registration incase it’s requested. Once you cross the border into Baja California, the route to Valle de Guadalupe is scenic, driving along the coast, and hills/vineyards when arriving in Valle.

Question

Dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask our guests to follow a black tie optional dress code with dark tones. Please visit the gallery tab for attire information. For men, "black tie optional" means you can wear a classic tuxedo or a formal, dark-colored suit with a white shirt, dark tie, and polished black dress shoes. The choice is yours, but if you can, wearing a tuxedo is the most traditional and safest option to remain dressed appropriately for a formal event. For women, "black tie optional" offers flexibility, allowing for a long formal gown, a floor-length dress, or a chic formal cocktail dress. Key considerations include avoiding anything too casual like day dresses or mini-dresses, choosing formal fabrics, and avoiding colors reserved for the bride, such as white, ivory, or cream. The goal is to be formal without being as strictly dressed as "black tie" requires, ensuring you are appropriately dressed for the event. Thank you for helping us create the vibe!

Question

When should i arrive/depart?

Answer

This depends on everyone’s personal schedule. The ceremony begins on Saturday at 2:00 PM. We suggest arriving Friday. Arriving Saturday is possible if you depart home early enough, but can be tight on time. We suggest leaving Valle on Monday morning if you want to avoid traffic and long wait times at the border. Leaving early on Sunday is an option as well, but you might wait an hour or two to cross the border.

Question

What time of day is suggested for travel?

Answer

Driving during the daytime is highly recommended. In Valle there are very few street lights and it is very dark. Some roads are not paved or have potholes. It’s best to avoid driving at night.
