Michelle's Version Charlie completely surprised me with an engagement ring and surprise engagement party! It was a beautiful day and although I knew he planned on proposing I had no idea it would be that day. He was so nervous, I should have known but I couldn't figure out why he was acting so strange. His sister, Brittney, was taking photos of Charlie, June, and me, and suggested going out to the backyard for better lighting. Little did I know Charlie had a bandana that read "Will you marry me?" in his pocket and that he was waiting for the perfect moment to slip it around June's neck. I loved that June was involved in it and that we'll always have that memory! Charlie's Version The weekend I proposed, I had planned a family party at my parents' house to celebrate Michelle and June's birthdays (and our engagement, but Michelle didn't know that yet). I knew June had to be a part of the proposal, and since June is always wearing bandanas, I got a bandana that says "Will you marry me?" written across the front. On the day of the party, my sister and co-conspirator suggested that we take some pictures outside in my mom's garden, which allowed her to unsuspiciously photograph the entire proposal.. While Michelle and I were taking a picture with June, I told Michelle that June should wear a new bandana I got her - the "Will you marry me?" bandana, which was conveniently in my pocket. I put the bandana around June's neck, and it took Michelle a moment to process what was going on. I was relieved that she did not expect I would propose on that day, because I thought I ruined the surprise by being and acting so nervous. We had a great time celebrating our engagement, in addition to Michelle and June's birthdays!
