As our favorite weekend destination, the town of Carmel has great vibes, and is fun, charming, and walkable. Expect shopping, bars, restaurants, and beach activities.
Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is one of our favorite places to hike. Easy trails are available. Parking fills up fast, earlier in the day is recommended.
Pebble Beach resort offers world class gold courses (Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Spanish Bay, and Del Monte), as well as other recreational activities. For non-golfers, driving or e-biking 17-mile drive is a spectacularly scenic activity.
Refuge is a spectacular co-ed, outdoor, award winning spa nearby. If you are looking for relaxation while in Carmel, day passes start at $67 and massages are available. Reservations are required.
For guest traveling with children or child-like-adults, the world-class Monterey Bay Aquarium is close by. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly encouraged. Adult tickets start at $60, and Child tickets start at $45 (children 4 and under are free).
Big Sur, CA is roughly a 45-minute drive south of Carmel, down world famous CA-1 and over the Bixby Bridge. Expect gorgeous scenery, hiking trails, shops, and restaurants. Guests seeking a luxury experience before or after the wedding should explore the Ventana (bookable with Hyatt points!) and the Post Ranch Inn.
