About Beechwood

Beechwood was built in 1916 by William and Blanche Elliot, Annie’s great-great grandparents as a summer cottage to get out of the heat of St. Louis. It is now fully occupied in the summers by the fourth, fifth and sixth generations of Elliot descendants.
Beechwood is located upon the shore of Green Bay on Cottage Row in Fish Creek, Door County, Wisconsin. Door County with its rugged rocky soil was once only known as a source of lumber. Then in the early 1900’s, city folk started taking the steamers used for hauling wood to visit the county. Hotels started up to handle the visitors. And eventually, land was purchased by these summer visitors and houses like Beechwood were built.
Beechwood is now one of the oldest houses on Cottage Row. And it is the oldest house owned by original descendants. It is a source of great memories for generations of adults and kids.
Annie and Charlie will be the third couple to say their wedding vows at Beechwood.
