On April 8th 2016 Amy decided to bail on her half marathon for the weekend. It was snowing, she wasn't trained and instead, her sister Abby managed to actually get her out of her house for a few drinks - a rare feat. But they needed to curse the stupidity of men and have some sister time. At Old Town Pour House they managed to grab the last two seats at the bar and while Amy was admiring the wall of beer deciding which of the 90 on tap she wanted to move onto next she faintly heard someone say 'have a good night'. She assumed someone was paying their tab and giving well wishes to the bartender, but glancing down, there was a Keep Calm and Chive On card that said "I just wanted to inform you that I find you to be very attractive. Thank you and have a nice day!" It was addressed to "The Finisher" (as she wore her Ironman Texas Finisher jacket) and underneath it had the name Charlie and a number. Asking Abby if she saw who left this, the only thing they had to go off of was 'I think he was bald' - which could have been anyone between the ages of 18-98. It is yet to be determined if it was the fate of the world or the cocktails she consumed, but eventually Amy went against her normal reaction of 'no way' and texted to playfully ask who leaves their number and doesn't even say hello. Eventually Charlie and Amy made plans to meet for his upcoming birthday, but on Sunday Amy wanted to go to Dogfish and didn't want to wait longer to meet. Getting there first, Amy sat with her back to the door so her jacket could be seen from the door in case he didn't remember what she looked like - and also because she still had no idea what he looked like. They ordered a drink, and she ordered a salad - apparently he wasn't eating. She awkwardly tried to eat, barely getting much down because she was nervous. She actually found this mystery man quite attractive and fun to be around. Little did they know it was the start of forever - and it was the only time he will ever see her barely eat
