It all started with a kiss! No one knew that Charlie and Marie were secretly dating until one summer night when Charlie officially asked Marie to be his girlfriend. It was late at night, rolling past midnight—so was it the 20th when he asked, or was it the 21st? They decided their anniversary would be June 21st, marking the beginning of their journey together. Their first official date was at Puente Hills Mall, where they watched Lilo & Stitch and enjoyed a meal at—was it Johnny Rockets? One of those '50s-inspired diners, who knows! What mattered most was that they were best friends first, making couple life feel effortless. Marie had already been a fixture at Charlie’s house, spending time with his family, especially playing Barbies with his little sister, Kassaundra. At the young ages of 18 and 21, these two "badults" (baby adults) took the leap and moved in together. Lucky for them, an automatic vacation home awaited them in Oahu, thanks to Marie’s sister, Anna, and brother-in-law, Alvin. Their first trip together was to meet their brand-new niece, Gillian, and celebrate their milestone birthdays on the island. As the years passed, Marie started dreaming of a wedding. She and her best friend, Salus, even attended wedding conventions—despite Charlie not having proposed yet! But life had its own timeline. On their 7th anniversary, Marie felt a little off. That “off” feeling turned out to be morning sickness! A pregnancy wouldn’t convince Charlie to propose, but having a one-year-old son, Caelum, did the trick. On March 12, 2010, in the most casual of settings (in bed!), Charlie finally popped the question. It wasn’t the grand proposal he envisioned, but it was perfect for Marie. Wedding plans began… until news of baby Christopher’s arrival put things on hold. But the show must go on! On March 12, 2011—seven months pregnant—Marie walked down the aisle, and they officially became husband and wife. Their wedding was a beautiful, intimate celebration filled with loved ones, including some who are no longer here. Those memories remain irreplaceable and forever cherished. Two years ago, Charlie surprised Marie with a question: "Can I propose to you again?" Knowing how much a Catholic wedding meant to her, he wanted to fulfill that dream. Marie, being Marie, immediately asked, "Ooh… does that mean I get a new ring?!" Finally, on New Year’s Eve 2025, the long-awaited proposal happened. And let’s just say—Charlie's patience paid off because he got exactly the reaction he was hoping for! Now, after 23 years together and 14 years of marriage, Charlie and Marie continue to be a testament to true love. They’ve experienced highs and lows, sickness and health, the "for poorer" (still waiting on the "for richer"), and through it all, their love keeps growing. Life is a gift, and they are beyond grateful to celebrate this special milestone with all of you. Join them as they renew their vows and celebrate love, family, and the beautiful journey that brought them here.
