Back in around 2020 while we were still living in Tucson, Charlie and I decided to grab dinner from one of our favorite taco spots in Tucson and drive to A mountain to eat our cabeza and carne asada tacos while looking down at the city lights. Due to it being late, the mountain was closed, forcing us to eat our tacos at the half way gate looking at the city. This was one of our most precious memories we share while we were still just friends. Fast forward to October 18, 2025, Charlie and I planned what I thought was a getaway trip to the city we met with my sister and her husband, and Charlie’s brother and his now fiancé. Little did I know, there was much more in store. Charlie and I arrived to Tucson earlier than everyone else, so we stopped at a taco shop, Aqui Con El Nene. After lunch, we walked around U of A campus to reminisce on the old days, including the dorm we lived and met in. “To pass time while we waited for the others to arrive to Tucson” Charlie suggested we drive through downtown and go to A mountain. I was very confused because I knew everyone else was about to arrive. Charlie however, did not give me the option to say no, and just started driving up the mountain. When we got to the top, I was starting to get nervous because, again, the others were close so why were we up here? Charlie then took my phone “to check his fantasy football team” but really he was getting nervous that I kept checking their location. I was especially confused when he had us get back in the car and start driving back down, like why did we just drive up here? On our drive down, Charlie stopped in a parking lot on the side of the mountain. Little did I realize that it was the same spot on the mountain where we ate 5 years ago. Charlie walked me to the mountain, got on his knee and popped the question!!! The rest of the night was a blur with all the excitement (maybe a few too many drinks) and our families surprising me in Tucson to celebrate! We are so grateful for all of you in our lives and can’t wait to celebrate with you all in FEBRUARY!!!
