It all started as college classmates. Simple talks in the hallways of ACC. We both thought the other was very cute, but neither of us said anything. We both claim to have flirted more than the other, but neither of us thought the other was interested. Finally, a class project came along that required number exchanges and more time together.

After two years, Vanessa finally had the liquid courage to ask Charles "do you have a girlfriend or something?", while he was working behind the bar at the Blind Pig Pub in Austin. This, thankfully, led to the best first date we ever had. We had great food and conversation at the Salty Sow, and it ended with a movie and Vanessa's birthday at midnight. To this day, we still love to visit Salty Sow to reminisce about this amazing first date.

After 6 years of being together, Charles was finally ready to ask the big question. He picked out Vanessa's dream ring with the help of her best friend, Holly. He planned this beautiful proposal outside at a park that involved their cute new puppy, Korra. Well, it rained. However, he didn't let that stop him! He popped the question in their apartment, still with the help of Korra. Little did Vanessa know that was not the end of the surprise! He had Holly fly in from Arizona and had some of their friends meet us at their favorite bar, Zelicks, to celebrate!
