No traditional or fancy clothes are needed, as there may be a risk of the henna getting on the clothes. Wear any colored, comfortable (something you wear in a day to day life) Western clothes. Example- Jeans, Shirt, Skirts Etc. This event is completely optional, only attend if you want henna application for the wedding ceremonies.
Please wear traditional Indian (if possible, but not necessary) clothes or fancy wedding dresses. Since the bride and groom will be wearing yellow, please try to avoid wearing yellow. All colors (bright) are accepted, but try to avoid colors like black, white, and grey. For men, if no traditional Indian clothes are available, a popular alternative is a formal suit (black is fine).
The bride will be wearing an orange colored saree on the day of the wedding. Please try to avoid wearing orange (as the primary color. Some orange mixed with others is fine), but feel free to wear bright, colorful traditional Indian dresses (preferred but not necessary) or fancy western wedding dresses. Please try to avoid colors like black, white, and grey. For men, if no traditional Indian clothes are available, a popular alternative is a formal suit (black is fine).
The Henna Ceremony is informal, and it will depend on how many people want to have henna on their hands. The bride and groom will have henna applied separately, as it takes 4+ hours for the couple. The ceremony will start around 4 pm. This event is completely optional, only attend if you want henna application for the wedding ceremonies.
Henna is a natural dye and an important cultural art form used to create temporary designs on the skin. The paste dries on the skin for 20–60 minutes. After it flakes off, the stain gradually darkens over the next day or two. Women and children usually apply henna to the palms of their hands. Henna cones and design stickers will be provided.
A paste made of turmeric, sandalwood, and sometimes rosewater or milk is applied to the bride and groom. Family and friends take turns gently putting it on their faces, arms, and feet.
Haldi will last for approximately 2 hours
RSVP's will be accepted up to May 31. We appreciate a definitive answer as soon as possible.
