April 2nd, 2015. Charles and Marni's first date went better than expected, which is to say that neither showed up at Bauhaus Brew Labs that spring night with many expectations. However, they were pleasantly surprised to find that in each other's company, minutes of conversation swirled into hours. Lebanon. Spain. Food and drink. Dad jokes. The conversation flowed as easily as the beer, and the two soon had to depart. With little hesitation, Charles proposed an idea for their second date at Chimborazo in a mere three days time. Marni had spent some time in Ecuador, and was yet to experience the wonder of this Minneapolis Ecuadorian gem. As they exited the taproom, a sense of warmth washed over Charles. He hadn't felt that way in some time. Steps from Marni's car, he leaned in slowly to deliver a goodnight kiss. Marni didn't get the hint. As their lips nearly touched for the first time, she mumbled, "Oh...we're doing this?" Charles reared back, scratching his head. "Did I get it all wrong?" he thought to himself. "I’m so sorry!" she exclaimed through laughter. "I thought we were hugging! Let’s try that again." After a few awkward laughs, they nailed the first kiss on the second try. They both made their way home in a state best described by one of their favorite Dean Martin songs: "My head keeps spinnin' I go to sleep and keep grinnin' If this is just the beginnin' My life is gonna be beeeeeautiful!"
