Who would have thought that in 2014, at a house party, we would be here today. Charles was shy and ducked off in the back of the house. That’s where he met Adria. She was sitting on a futon by herself and he decided to sit down because the room was empty. Adria, who loves talking, decided to express her aspirations and goals in life to Charles. Not knowing that talking about her dreams to him would be the start of something wonderful.
It’s raining, and I mean raining! Charles, Adria, and their daughter Aria, are headed to Birmingham for a Christmas Party with their friends. They take the back roads because it’s a quicker route. As they’re driving, Charles brings up not being able to afford the ring Adria wants right now. However, he says he does want to marry her. Adria agrees she wants to marry him to, but he has to propose. Even if it’s with a $25 ring from Wal-Mart, he has to get on his knee and ask her to marry him. Charles continues the conversation as Adria talks and scrolls through Instagram. Charles then says “Will you marry me?!” Adria looks up from her phone, chuckles, and replies, “Yes, but you have to get on your knee and have a ring.” Laughing she goes back to her phone. Charles then ask can he go and get a ring Monday from Wal-Mart and will Adria still say yes right now. Adria, says “Yes, but like I said you have to get on your knee and ask me.” Charles then pulls the car over on the side of the road, at the opening of a dirt path to a farm. It’s still raining. Charles gets out the car, runs to the passenger side, opens Adria’s door, and gets on his knee in the mud. Charles ask “Adria, will you marry me?!” Adria, now laughing, says “Boy yes! Now get up before you get pneumonia!” Adria thought Charles was joking and went back to looking at Instagram. As she turns back to Charles he is holding her dream ring out in front of him and says “What about now?” Of course Adria’s response is “Are your forreal? Like you’re serious?!” Then instant tears! She turns away and stops crying for a second, thinking this is a dream, then turns back around realizing it’s not! Tears start to really fall again! Charles puts the ring on Adria’s finger and she joins him in the rain. She gives him a hug and then he picks her up and spins her around as pick-up trucks and cars pass by! All the while, Aria is fast asleep in her carseat. Not realizing that her parents are getting MARRIED!
