We were both at a friend's party when we first spotted each other. All that was exchanged were glances; no names, contact information, nothing. A few nights passed and we both turned up at a social gathering hosted by a mutual friend. That is where we were formally introduce. As the party began to wind down, we all started to share personal stories. When he heard mine, there was something about the way he held me that made me feel so safe. That’s when I knew he could be 'the one'. - Charlene
I’ve always known I wanted to marry Charlene but I wanted to wait for the perfect moment. With the most gorgeous ring picked out and never really knowing how I was going to propose, I was anxious for months on end. One day I realized, with the help of a few people, that there is never a perfect moment in life and that I was delaying one of the most important and iconic days of Charlene and I’s relationship. With that in mind, I took off early from work and picked up the ring in downtown Houston an hour and a half away. I held on to that precious piece of metal and rock for two weeks before I prepared the perfect evening. The Friday night on the second week of having the ring we went out to dinner at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in China Town. With the ring box too large to fit in my pocket, I scarf down dinner nervous knowing what I was about to do at the end of the night. After finishing our plates and cashing out, we went across the street to pick up some Tea and Coffee and headed back to the car. Charlene thought we were heading home but I had other plans for the night. A subtle detour took us to downtown Houston and to the Allen Parkway bridge. This was the place I took Charlene to for our Valentine’s Day and will always hold a special place in our hearts. With the glowing and gorgeous Houston Skyline beside us, I poured my heart out to Charlene and got down on one knee…the rest is history! - William
