Go-to Dinner spots: - Clarke Cooke House (a must for dirty martini's & oysters) - Pasta Beach (the best pasta/pizza & vibe) - Midtown Oyster Bar (we love the upstairs bar) - 41 North (on the water, also a must for dirty martini's, steaks) - Bar Cino (Italian) - Nikolas Pizza (to-go pizza) - Giusto (right on water, they have a fun food tasting for large groups) Lunch spots: - Black Pearl - The Mooring (try and sit right on the water) - Obrien's Pub (Old Irish Pub)- great outdoor sports bar; Thomas insists on a Guinness every time - Castle Hill Inn (about a 5 min. drive from downtown, amazing water views, great place to grab a drink right on the lawn chairs) - Mamma Luisa (tucked away on the skirts of Thames Street, a secret gem. An old Newport house converted into an Italian restaurant. Great for a quieter vibe, amazing food) - The Landing (great outdoor live music) Breakfast/Coffee: - Cru Cafe (our go-to for breakfast) - Springline Coffee (coffee on the water) - Nitro Bar
Explore Newport by Boat! We've done a couple boat cruises with Sea Newport -- they take off from downtown, seat max. 6 people and provide an amazing experience - BYOB! There are also a couple other boat cruise options.
A must! We walked the cliff walk every day with Charlie & Izzy. The whole walk is about 3.5 miles- 2/3 of the walk is easy walking condition on a pathway. There are some parts at the end where you will need to climb on some rocks if you go that far down.
Mansion tours are a must! The Breaker's is the best!
Great vineyard about 15 min from Newport.
Easton's Beach (1st beach)- right at the beginning of the cliff walk (20 min walk from downtown- Red Parrot) Gooseberry Beach (go early & park- they typically don't allow Uber drop offs!) King's Park (Not a beach, but great park right on the water)
