Small, 2-mile long island between Manhattan and Queens, historically known for it's storied past as Blackwell's Island, an island housing a prison, asylum, and smallpox hospital (remnants of each still exist today). Now, tourists visit Roosevelt Island for the scenic tramway ride along the Queensboro Bridge from Roosevelt Island to Manhattan, in addition to the Four Freedoms Park beside Cornell Tech.
