Derrius and I attended school together since junior high. I didn't actually meet him until 9th grade year. That's when I started referring to him as "my crush". We ended up having a class together in 10th grade. We talked on the phone once! Haha! we always messed with each other in class and became friends. We remained cordial until college. He came to Jackson State one day with some high school friends, and I ran into them. We hung out almost every day from that day forward. The rest is history.

Charlene and I were classmates. Our first class together was 10th grade Geometry. Prior to that, I only heard of the "illustrious twins" that went to our school. I remember seeing one (hopefully Charlene) passing through the hallways and I've been intrigued every since. Of course, when we finally took a class together, I had to stand out, becoming the class clown. One day, half way through the semester, Charlene disappeared from class. While she was away, my grades quickly rose. Ha! Upon her return, I just asked her “Did you enjoy your vacation”? But after tenth grade, we didn’t have much contact. Fast forward to senior year, I decided to sow a seed in her yearbook. I wrote “Don’t take anymore vacations without me”. Freshmen year of college, we ran into each other again. I quickly became a fan of the J-Settes and practically became a JSU student, while attending Hinds CC. From then, she never took a vacation without telling me!
