it was impossible not to know about Jacob, he was brought up at basically every family function thanks to the dynamic duo of my mom and aunt. It was also hard to miss the "he's perfect you should date him" hints. I was in my junior year at APU and Jacob was living and working full time at Hume Lake and helping out at our church's children's ministry whenever he was in town. Eventually we caved to the set up and Jacob asked me on a date. He had created the cutest picnic in my backyard (about 5 yards from where we will be getting married, sentimental I know) & that was all it took. The next year held lots of miles on Jacob's truck to and from Hume, lots of voicemail prayers when he got off 2am shifts and lots of "when long distance is over...". As we dealt with all that long distance entails we learned to be intentional with one another in every aspect. The relationship and love God orchestrated for us slowly (slowly depending on which of us you're talking to) became clear, Jacob was meant for me and I for him. On October 24th, with all my closest friends in on the secret, Jacob drove down to LA and surprised me on the beach. If you know me you know how impossible it is to surprise me and he pulled it off. All I remember is this impossibly great guy asking to marry me and me dropping to my knees forgetting to even answer. There were tears, great pictures (thanks keelan!) and a sunset only God could paint. Jacob and I's story is one of redemptive love and I am so so thankful for him and all those who have loved and supported us from the beginning. I cant wait to see (+ dance) with you all in November xx char
