FAQs

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Hakone Gardens is located in the hills past Historic Saratoga Village, so we highly recommend taking cars or Uber/Lyft. The pathway to the venue from the entrance is very narrow, so we don't recommend coming in large vehicles such as large trucks, vans, and limos.

Question

Where should we park? Is it free?

Answer

There is a parking lot at the venue and it is free! :)

Question

Am I allowed to take photos/videos at your wedding?

Answer

You're more than welcome to take photos and videos during the reception! We kindly ask that the ceremony be kept "unplugged" as we will have a wedding photographer.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We encourage everyone to wear garden attire: sundresses, casual suits, sunglasses, floral prints, bright colors, etc. Because the gardens have uneven ground with gravel, stairs, and small hills, we highly recommend wearing shoes that are flat or have low chunky heels.

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

We do not plan on having a registry. No gifts are expected but donations to our honeymoon fund are always welcome!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to budget limitations, we can't afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. We ask our guests to please not bring a plus one, unless they are specified on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

What kind of food will there be?

Answer

We will have a buffet style dinner after the ceremony. Main entree options are tri-tip, chicken parmesan, and seafood paella. The menu is also nut-free. If there are any food allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of, please let us know so we can notify our caterer.

Question

Is it an open bar?

Answer

Hell yeah ;)
