In 10th grade they had a class together, they sat right across from each other. Nathan had a huge crush on Charlee and even told his mother, Lanae, that he could see himself marrying a girl like Charlee. He later found out she had a boyfriend. Nathan would say hi to Charlee in the hallways and would occasionally check up on her instagram profile to see if she was single yet. One day, he saw her post and was reminded to do his routine checkup. It was his lucky day, because she was finally a free woman and he had his chance. They went on one date and have been completely inseparable since.

On the morning of Charlee’s 20th birthday, Nathan had finally thought up the most extravagant way to make Charlee feel loved and special on her day. He’d been trying to think of what he could do for several weeks, but there was really only one thing that felt undoubtedly right. He planned to propose. He asked for her father’s permission just a few short hours before it all went down in a Super Target to make it just as inconspicuous as he could. From fighting off old men, to playing yard games with friends and family, all he could think about was that he just wanted to spend the rest of his life with Charlee. He called his mother and told her to bring one of her rings for him that he could use. Charlee’s sister, Jersee, and his mother worked together to pick out the most perfect of the few rings that had been in their family for the proposal. When it finally fell dark, and the party was winding down, Nathan leaned into Charlee and told her he just wanted to have a moment with her alone on this special day. Completely clueless, Charlee just thought Nathan was being his sweet romantic self, she agreed. They held hands, talked, and laughed on their way to the place they told each other they loved each other for the first time. They laid in the same spot, looking up at the stars, and talked about how amazing their day had been and how they couldn’t wait for what was to come in the future. Nathan looked at Charlee and told her he just wanted to do this with only her for the rest of his life, without skipping a beat, he got up on one knee and pulled out a ring out of his pocket. Charlee, with so much love and joy in her heart just looked at him and nodded her head repeatedly while sobbing uncontrollably. She fell into his arms, hugged and cried while laughing simultaneously, and Nathan put the ring on Charlee’s finger. It was the most perfect night, and it was all made possible in just one day.
