Dakota and I had our friend, Josh, in town from South Korea. We love escape rooms, so I thought that would be a fun thing to take Josh to do for the day! I invited our normal group, plus both of our parents. When we arrived, the game master told us they were running a Christmas Eve special and if we found 4 letters from Santa hidden in the room, we would be able to play a bonus round after the game to maybe win a prize! Since the envelopes from Santa contained clues to the bonus round, we weren't allowed to open them until the end. We found all 4 letters so they took us into the lobby for the bonus round. They said only 2 or 3 players should play the bonus round so Dakota and I volunteered. The game master told us to close our eyes while they opened all the clues. When I opened my eyes, my whole family was there and our parents were holding up the words "Dakota has a question." I turned to Dakota and he was down on one knee! It was the perfect moment and I absolutely cannot wait to marry my best friend. 🖤
Dakota and I have been together since he was 15 and I was 16. We met in my freshman year Intro to Algebra class. Dakota was a very shy (very cute) kid that sat behind me. I pestered him every day trying to get him out of his shell. We used to play games on his old iPod touch and I would school him on Air Hockey every day. After that class, anytime I saw him around school, I would say "hi" to him to make him turn red and get all awkward. 🖤 Then my junior year, Dakota walked in to my first day of Desktop Publishing class where I had already been banned from sitting by my friends. So I, of course, yelled for him to come sit by me, which ended up being his assigned seat in the class. A couple weeks in, I asked him to dinner and a movie and we haven't spent more than a week apart since. He never formally asked me to be his girlfriend, but he has finally asked me to be his WIFE 💍🖤
