The Moment I Experienced "Love at First Sight."

So, May 14th, 2015, I arrived at the location of the funeral... Hours later, I was "married..."

A long time ago, in a world that now seems far, far away, I saw the woman that would become my "wife," and who is now actually becoming my wife. Although the circumstances may seem odd, we all know that we do not hold control over matters of the heart. I was contacted by a friend with whom I served in the Army. He and his wife had asked if I would preside over the military honors for her grandfather; an honor that is not taken lightly. Upon arrival to the airport, I was greeted by my brother-in-arms Geno and "Uncle" Mark. We began our trek to Spirit Lake, IA. There was a gathering of family at a gazebo near the lake taking pictures. I recognized some, and was warmly greeted by all. A few moments into socializing, I noticed a woman exiting her vehicle in the parking lot across the grassy field. I was instantly taken aback by her beauty. As she clumsily crossed the rain-drenched field, she struggled to navigate the soft ground in heels. With a smile, that literally lit up the sky, she removed them and forged ahead. I couldn't take my eyes off her. We made eye contact a couple times as she neared, and I leaned in to ask Geno "who the @#$& is that?" He told me and I berated him for not introducing me prior. She had made her way through the crowd and introduced herself. As I began to extend my hand in greeting, Charity proclaimed that she was a "hugger." One hug and I was done. Hours later, we were "married..." That night, we all met for food and drinks. Geno and I needed a quieter setting and strayed to the restaurant next door. Charity decided to join us. At that point, I didn't know she was stalking me 😊.Charity excused herself to use the restroom, and seconds later a bachelorette party entered and swarmed. They were fun, but a bit "extra." They were aggressively pursuing, so I told them that I was with my "wife," who was in the bathroom. When Charity returned, I introduced her, and pulled her in close. Like a champ, she played along... The rest is history...

For all the days along the way
