Marquez and Charity formally met in the Publix grocery store, where they were buying snacks for the girls' basketball team to travel on their way to Charlotte, North Carolina. Charity approached him with a threat and demanded that he take care of her baby on this trip. He assured her that she was well taken care of. Shortly after, he texted her (he might have been just bored…it was a 13 hour charter bus ride). The entire trip, they texted back and forth, and haven’t stopped texting ever since; although it took forever to finally ask her out on a date. Once they became official, it was no secret because they were inseparable and the rest is history.

Marquez surprised Charity with the best proposal ever which was on her birthday! He took her out to dinner first. She was under the impression that they were going to enjoy the rest of her day hanging out with family. Instead, she came home to beautiful decorations, family, and friends, waiting for her. She was overwhelmed with tears of joy to share that moment with the people that she loved on her birthday. Charity and Marquez are best friends. They never knew love like this even existed and they can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at their wedding and reception in June 2024!
