Flight
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, so getting here by plane should be relatively easy! The airport has been undergoing an extensive makeover the past few years, so plan on some disruptions and potentially construction slowing you down when you arrive. If you are flying into town, we HIGHLY recommend renting a car, or taking the MARTA train to as close to your lodging destination as possible and then using rideshare services from there. Taking rideshare directly from the airport can be extremely difficult and stressful, so we cannot recommend enough figuring out another option. There are a number of nice hotels with direct shuttle service to and from the Airport, and thus offer direct access to MARTA train service that connects to the core of the City. The airport is also only about 15-20 minutes away from Fort Pollard and the celebration venues, making it super convenient for anyone travelling from out of town!
Train
CLOSEST MARTA STOP TO VENUE: West End Station MARTA is the somewhat limited but reliable local public transportation. MARTA trains run from the Airport heading North into the City, with an East/West junction located at FIVE POINTS STATION. MARTA trains are relatively cheap, and there is a station about 1.5 miles from our house -- Oakland City Station. The closest station to the venue is West End station.
Travel Note
The Lee and White complex is the crown jewel of the West End beltline development, and the location of the venue for Saturday's celebration! It is a sprawling campus-like development that hosts a number of amazing local businesses and co-working areas, as well as a food-court and public greenspaces.
Travel Note
The Atlanta Beltline is a nearly-contiguous, paved walking and biking trail that wraps around the core of the city. It is an amazing destination for a day trip, as well as being a vital local transportation alternative for citizens. The celebration on Saturday will take place at a location connected directly to the West End section of the beltline, making it very easy to find should you book lodging with Beltline access (or near a trail access point). Even the Friday meet and greet will take place just a few steps from the East Side beltline! A must-see for anyone coming into the city!
