Forest Park is great spot to go for a short hike or trail run.
Mount Tabor is an east side city park on another of Portland’s dormant volcanoes. The paths can be steep but it’s worth it to see the city from the top!
Stroll through the park or park up at a picnic table to enjoy the day at Laurelhurst Park. The pond and ducks are a serene way to spend the afternoon.
Walk along the Willamette River in our beautiful (and mercifully flat) Waterfront Park Trail.
Pittock Mansion is a historical home on the edge of Forest Park. It offers paid tours, but grounds are free & feature one of the very best views of the city. As an added bonus, the grounds are accessible! The path is relatively short and paved.

Prost! is one of our favorite spots to bring guests. They serve some excellent German beer and often have soccer playing. Best of all, they’re neighbors to an excellent set of food carts: Matt’s BBQ and Mole Mole are two of our favorites, and try the frozen Paloma if that’s your speed!
