In typical San Francisco fashion, Jenna and Ryan met at Fort Mason in the Marina. It was one of those group get togethers where you meet people left and right. They sat in a circle next to each other and chatted about everything under the sun. Ryan pulled out the ol' "can I have you number?". They exchanged numbers but he quickly found out Jenna had a boyfriend. Fast forward four months and Jenna was single - ready to mingle - but didn't want to go on the dating apps. She remembered having the most lovely conversation with a cute guy at Fort Mason. She forgot his name but quickly found it in her phone thanks to a few of her girlfriends! Jenna texted Ryan to get drinks at El Techo in Mission.... and the rest was history :)

Ryan had been planning the proposal for 8+ months. He knew he wanted to propose in a place that was special to both him and Jenna. That place was Carmel by the Sea! The day came when they ventured up the coast for a weekend getaway. Jenna thought they were staying two nights in Carmel but Ryan had other plans. After their first night in Carmel, Ryan surprised Jenna and let her know that he made a reservation at Post Ranch Inn for brunch (this spot was on Jenna's bucket list!) That is also how he landed her in that beautiful dress. The two jumped in the car on Sunday morning and started the drive up the coast in some insane rain and fog. They stopped at a gas station where Ryan slipped the ring into his sock and kept on the adventure. Within 15 minutes, they had crossed into Big Sur - the rain had stopped and the sun was shining. They pulled over to sight-see (something they commonly do) -- and Ryan popped the q! Of course, Jenna said YES! They later arrived at Post Ranch Inn to have brunch and stay the night. 11/10 day!! Pure happiness.
