Annabelle Tsao

Maid of Honor

Jessica and I met in the 7th grade in band class. At the time, I had thought this new girl was actually quite annoying because she would not stop talking to me. I don’t even remember what she would talk about because I would only pretend to listen and nod my head because I feared getting in trouble. Little did I know, we would, not only, spend many years down the road navigating through band drama with our clarinets in hand, but also countless hours chatting back and forth about our lives! ‎

Best Man

As you can tell by the excitement exuded in my headshot, I was not expecting to have to write an essay for Chan, which is ironic given his illiteracy in multiple languages (don’t ask if I spelt illiteracy correctly the first seven times or if I used spelt instead of spelled). I’ve had the misfortune of knowing Chan since we were in middle school, when he was a shorter, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, argumentative idiot. To be fair, I’d say that puberty and circumstance have changed him quite a bit, although there is no doubt that his tail has never been bushier. If there’s one thing I’m excited for this upcoming September, it’s probably the start of training camp for the Knicks. Yep. That’s it.

Bridesmaid

jess and i met in middle school and one of the first core memories of our friendship was when we were partners on a field trip to mt. st. helen’s and jess asked me what kind of snacks to bring and the only request i had was nothing with cheese. of course, she showed up the next day with cheese its as our only snack. throughout our 10+ years of friendship, jess has proven herself to be one of the most understanding, supportive, and caring people i’ve ever known. i remember when jess first told me about CY to meeting him for the first time to forming a friendship with him - one thing that has always stood out to me is their ability to work really well together as a team! i'm so incredibly grateful to call jess and CY two of my closest friends and it has truly been a privilege to be a part of their lives. i cannot wait for them to start this exciting chapter together!

I’ve known Chanyoung since high school, and had the pleasure of also going to the same college as him. It is such a blessing to have a friend who shares a brain cell with me (Jess can attest we are scarily alike at times), and it was fun getting all of their dirt and third-wheeling when I roomed with Chanyoung the semester after they started dating. It’s crazy (but not a surprise) that they’re already getting married, and I will fight anyone to be their number 1 fan. I’m very grateful that Jess accepted me as a friend even though I may or may not have accidentally stabbed her with a kitchen knife on one of our first encounters. They will always be in my prayers, and I hope for many more 4am puzzles, Wine Wednesdays, and steak nights with the married couple to come!

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I met in a discussion group for our college fellowship. I was excited to meet someone who liked to talk as much as me - a kindred spirit! We became friends, and then roommates, and have made many memories I hold close to my heart, from doing our nails in our old apartment to road tripping across the country. I'm very thankful to have such a wonderful friend in my life and very excited for what the future holds for her and Chanyoung!

Timothy Kim

Groomsman

hello! my name is tim. ive known chan for so many years now that ive honestly lost count (definitely over a decade). we've had a multitude of years growing up together, whether its through church, playing minecraft/tetris, high school. most of all, we grew up in the same small town in nj, which has helped us keep close contact over the years. plus, we share a one season, fifteen episode wonder of a podcast together :)

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I met in seventh grade when Jessica moved to Bellevue. We bonded over things like math club and being annoying. I have very many wonderful memories with Jessica. We have run around Manhattan at age 16, slumped in an AirBnB in Idaho at age 21. One of my favorite recent memories is paddleboarding last summer in South Lake Union. We spent most of the time sitting on the paddleboards and idly kicking our feet in the water. We laughed about the things we have always laughed about. It is very wonderful to have a friend that can be serious about leisure with you.

Chanyoung and I first met at ACF sometime during our freshman year of college. Our shared passion for music led to us both serving on the Exalt worship team, where we grew closer as friends. When COVID hit and everything went online, Chanyoung stayed in touch and showed his continuous support through my Zoom cell group, eventually becoming the most consistent member in attendance, even more than me! Our shared love for God, music, and daily life was the foundation of our friendship, but it truly solidified into a lifelong bond the day we signed a lease as roommates!

Bridesmaid

Jess and I first met in our freshman year of college. She was my introduction to so many things from balancing a fun college experience with leading an authentic Christian life, to how an HVAC system works inside a building. I think very fondly of the hours we’d spend practicing ballroom, eating nuggets and fries on the hotel floor during comps, and squealing over professional ballroom dancers together. Being able to watch Jess grow throughout college has been so inspirational, and I’m super excited for what awaits her in the next chapter of her life.

Bryan Park

Groomsman

Hello, my name is Bryan Park and I’m one of Chanyoung’s groomsmen! I got to know Chanyoung through going to the same church and I jokingly told him that he was a replacement for one of my other close friends before he left for Korea. Ever since then we’ve been close for quite a while, especially when our families hang out with each other as well. My family see Chanyoung more than I see him though :’)

Shirley Wang

Bridesmaid

I met Jessica in growth group at church in California. One day we discovered that we both played tennis and went climbing. This led to a series of hobby sessions which allowed us to grow closer together in faith and in life.

Nathan Love

Groomsman

I was in the same major as Chan during college and met him through classes, then started showing up to his apartment to clean it up in exchange for food. I'm relieved that Jess will be around to keep him from living like an animal.
